(Lincicome is the 62,377th most popular last name in the United States)

There are at least 40 different ways that the Lincicome family members have speller their name. For a list of these different spellings, please click here.

My Lincicome family comes from the Mid-Ohio Valley area. Some of the cities they were born or died in are Midena (Jackson County) and Parkersburg (Wood County) WV, and Marietta (Washington County), OH. There are two other Ohio Counties where the families were either born, died or lived in which are Noble and Monroe. All five of these counties, in both states, are neighboring counties.

Joseph Lincicome is the oldest generation I have on record. I do not have any dates or his wife's name but I have a son named Nathan Lincicome. Nathan was born in 1770 in the State of Maryland and died on February 28, 1845. Nathan married Lydia Enochs, who's parents were Enoch Enochs & Rebecca Morris, and they had three children: Caleb, Rhoda and James.

Caleb is the first generation in my records where the surname gets changed on how it is spelled. Caleb began to spell his last name Lincicum instead of Lincicome. He was born on December 10, 1796 and died on December 16, 1882 and married Nancy Archer. She was born on October 27, 1813 and died on December 16, 1876. (Nancy's parents were Michael Archer & Margaret Collins). Caleb and Nancy had 10 children: George, Ann, Jesse, Millie, Hannah, Andrew, Nathan, Wesley, Squire & Elijah Lincicum.

Their second child, Rhoda, was born on October 19, 1810 and died on April 30, 1848. She married Usial (Uzel) Bates, who parents were Issac Clark Bates Sr. & (1) Katherine (Katie) Moore. Uzel was born in 1808 and his death date is unknown. They had eight children: Issac, Elizabeth, Cyrus, Sarah, Cyntha, Daniel, Mary Jane & Phebe Bates.

Their third child, James, is where my family comes from. He was born on March 24, 1812 and died on July 9, 1910. He married Mary Ann Weekley on January 24, 1839. (Mary Ann's parents were Benjamin Weekley & Madalina Alltop) She was born on October 7, 1820 and died on January 7, 1882

and they had 13 children: Levi, Benjamin, Phebe, William, Unnamed infant, Sarah J., Achison, Henry, Celia Jane, Elizabeth, Catherine (Katty), Naaman & Emma A. Lincicome.

Levi is the next family member where my genealogy comes from. Levi was born on January 26, 1840 and died on December 25, 1912. He married Geraldine McKee on October 17, 1859 in Noble County, OH. (Geraldine's parents were Henry Martin McKee & (1) Nancy Morris) She was born on June 01, 1843 and died on March 24, 1912 and they had 11 children: Albert F. Lincicome, James Swazy (Swazy) Lincicome, William (Willie) Henry Lincicome, Winfield (Win) Lincicome, Matin Lincicome, Mary Lincicome, Martha Elizabeth Lincicome, Ackison (Ack) E. Lincicome, Carl C. My genealogy comes from Jeremiah Murphy who was born on August 11, 1811 and died November 06, 1868. He married Jennie Dorsett who was born on October 05, 1816 and died August 06, 1910. I do not know how many children they had but their son named John Frances Murphy, who changed his own name to John Terry Murphy.

John Terry Murphy is my g-g-grandfather and he was born November 02, 1849 and died on July, 30, 1937. He married Emily (Emma) Elizabeth Weaver on August 20, 1873 in Chattooga County, GA. (Pledger is the 12,160th most popular last name in the United States)

My g-g-g-grandmother, Sarah Jane Pledger, married George Monroe Weaver and mother to Emma Weaver who married John Terry Murphy, was a full blooded Cherokee Indian and was born in 1828 in Elbert County, GA and died in 1888 in Cherokee County, AL. Her birth parents are unknown because when the Trail of Tears started she was adopted by Thomas Henry and Nancy (Ford) Pledger. I have that Thomas Henry was born on 09/21/1794 and died on 03/14/1880 and that Nancy was born in 1800 and died on 02/22/1848. Also in my records I have that both Thomas and Nancy are buried in Cave Springs, GA in Floyd County. After Nancy died, Thomas married Lucinda Parks who was born on 12/20/1815 and died on 07/14/1883.

I have the parents of Thomas Henry as Thomas (birth is est. as being around 1764 and his death was on 07/24/1846) and Nancy Ann (Leavister) Pledger. John's parents are John (birth est. as being in 1650) and Elizabeth (Lefevre) Pledger.

It is also thought that Thomas and Nancy adopted Sarah's brothers and sisters because the dates of births of all the children are in order. If this is true, I do not know which ones are her true brothers and sisters and which ones are here adopted brothers and sisters or if all the children are her true brothers and sisters. Here are all nine children's names to Thomas and

CLICK HERE FOR OUR SENTELL GENEALOGY

(Sentell is the 23,395th most popular last name in the United States)

My Sentell genealogy starts with the earliest family member I have on record, John Sentell who was born around 1680 in Exeter, England. His son was Samuel Sentell, who was born in 1700 and he married Mary Hatcher. They had Jonathon L. Sentell who was born on May 26, 1729 and died in in February 02, 1799. Jonathon married a lady named Ann but we do not know her last name for sure. Jonathon and Ann had four children; William, Samuel (who would become Sgt. Samuel Sentell), Johnathon (this is the way I have it recorded as being spelled) and Sterling Sentell. From this generation is where the Sentell Baptist Church was formed in Sandy Springs, GA. A large unanswered question and family feud also begins here. It is said that when Jonathan died he left more to one son than he did to the other three sons. Because of this a feud began within the family and some Sentells began to spell their last name Sentell and some spelled it Sentelle, to tell the difference on which side of the feud you went with. ALSO, it is unknown which of the four sons is my grandfather. But, one of
